No Time For Anything

:::The Writing Continues...:::

I started doing the Nanowrimo thing. My story is a mix of urban fantasy and alternate history with dash of horror and suspense. Hopefully, I'll be able to share parts of the story here, as I have only the prologue and the first chapter done. Lots of groundwork to do, lots of thinking to uncover. All in all, pretty much smooth sailing. A part of the premise is that a man is sanctioned by the Catholic Church to protect Manila from the beasts of the folklore; be it from the tikbalangs, the kapres etc. And it would have been easy except that these monsters are all shapeshifters, you never know that the smiling banker approving your loan is actually a shaman from the Dugung Asul Tribe, and silently jotting down your personal information so he and his friends can pay you a personal visit.

Now back to the man. This man was reborn, released from a curse during the reign of Solayman. He was a bodyground of the king, a Halimaw Hunter. And one day, he was discovered off the coast of Sulu, taken in by the local priest there, and from then on, learned to accept his new life gruadually.

The story takes place after ten years into he was released from the curse. Hopefully I'll get it done by the end of the month, right now, although I got my plot and characters in, I'm running a little behind schedule. Fingers crossed.

:::Happy Wishes!:::

Last week we celebrated my Lola's 80th birthday. It was a blast seeing all of my cousins together in one place. We practically grew up together, so were very close, and as the oldest apo I had to take care of them before. Now that we're all grown up, there's less time to see other but we do cherish those rare moments. And having my Lola's birthday to boot was almost as perfect as it gets ( my other three cousins weren't able to make it, sayang ). All in all, it was a blast.
