WoW-Ness, Other Blogs and Sleep Issues

:::Wowowee!:::

I'm not actually referring to the TV show, but when my girlfriend got back from Manila for a week long hiatus from Bar Review, she got me a box of WoW: Dark Portal boosters.

Let me repeat that: ONE BOX OF W0W BOOSTERS!

This boy is happy. So far, one of the good finds that I got are Lightning Reflexes, Inner Focus, Anger Management, Slaughter from the Shadows, Stone Guard Rashun, Marshal Reginald Windsor, Kick and Rexxar, to name a few. Anyone for up for trading? Hehehe...

:::The Other Blogs:::

I've opened a couple more blogs, focusing on certain topics. One is called One Day, One Photo, which is exactly what it sounds like, which I'll try to upload a single photo everyday. It won't be professional, like some others in the web, but more like theory in practice. Hopefully, my skill in photography gets better as I post each shot.

The other one is the Five Hundred Words, a collection of shorts numbering 500 words or below. Not yet ready, I'll have to look at my archives for some of the stories I've done and post them here. This one I hope to update every week, Sunday.

:::Room for Destruction:::

It's been 9 days and I have been sleeping in the sala. Due to the number of books, the level of dust and the fear of combustion, my room has been reconstructed to allow for MORE books to be shelved. That's right, more shelvings for more books. My parents finally realized I needed more space when they went inside the room and discovered that they had to navigate through book infested waters ... er ... floor. So I got pencil out, stuck a tongue in the side, and proceeded to make plans to destroy one cabinet (who needs more clothes?), redesign the wall (who needs windows?) and take out most of the furniture (no more tables and chairs). In the end, I will only have one PC/table combo , one TV/table combo and just a bed. And I'm contemplating in getting a folding bed for more space. Haaaay....

So living in the sala has its ups and downs. One, its bigger than my room so its much more airy. Downside is that when I sleep very early, lets say 7pm because of work tiredness, I have to contend with my mother watching telenolavas at FULL VOLUME. Ever try to sleep with Jewel in the Palace playing? Remember those shows with people sleeping and scientists talking certain stuff and the people wake up and know what the scientists were talking about? In the end I finally believe in those sleep induced studies because I dreamed I was in a Korean Telenovela. And the next day, I keep trying to talk to people in Korean. Or asking them if they've seen a jewel somewhere. Sheeesh...

Nine days. Perhaps this Saturday things will work out fine and I finally have my new room/library. Fingers are crossed.

And The Cow Says "Woof Woof"

:::Hey Now, Brown Cow:::

Initial plans have been set for our 10th year High School Anniversary, coming this December 21/22nd this year. Venue would be at the old High School Gym near the Mango Tree (the tree deserves the capital letters, nostalgia does that sometimes) and out of the 100 graduates of batch '97, we are looking at a practical atendee rate of 50 (some of us are working outside the country) and perhaps give or take a couple of homecomers and some teachers. In any case, I hope this turns out well.

I say that "I hope this turns out well" as "me alone", since the one who "pushed" for the reunion/anniversary (or perhaps the word should be "instigated") is just me. Sometimes, I wonder at my batchmates. I'm clearly the one student in my batch who is usually in the sidelines ( the noisy part, but the sidelines still ) and now I've been thrust into being one of the "core group". Not that I"m complaining (well, perhaps slightly) but I know if things don't happen now, there will never be a 10th year reunion (well, there might be, but perhaps not as well organized). It's time to step up the plate and do your thing. Sounds a little over the top but that's just the way it is. So here's us doing the initial planning of the event. From L-R: Me, Bopeep, Rofel, Pals and Phalap.

If you ask my feelings about me as part of the core, I'd be RESIGNED/GO WITH THE FLOW. There's nothing left to do but move forward, and hopefully people will back me up. And that is why when it comes to my batchmates, and my history, I could never be sure. Why? Well, let's say four years in WVSU High School thought me that either stay bright or stay in the crowd. Me, I'm still one cow along with the rest of the herd.

Have a milk. Moo.

:::A New Punishment:::

If you did something very very wrong, what would be your punishment? The Electric Chair? The Needle of Death? The Hemp Fandango? Well, it seems that the law enforcement in Cebu decided to get a little creative made every inmate do the Michael Jackson Thriller video. And as for the guy playing the girl/gay/bitch (it's a prison, so he's somebody's bitch I guess), methinks he did it for a reduced sentence/ a couple of cigarettes/ cuz he's really the warden's bitch.

In any case watch and wonder on how we treat our criminals here.

But what the hey, cool dance moves, hehehe. There's also a riverdance version and others, but this one takes the cake ... or ganja in this case. I wonder what did the warden eat at his breakfast? If I do ever commit a crime, I'd probably ask to be transferred to Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center. Hmmm, perhaps my blogger friend Acey would care to comment since this is her place?

:::The Hamster and Silver Lass:::

Some additional pics of me and Ronstadt ( as duly ordered by Herr Mein Fuhrer, hehehe ) in my brother's wedding.

Commercial Break

:::Stuck in the Moment:::

I'm in the midst of a lot of things, particularly doing some ad projects for work and some stories in progress for a couple of online publications. Bro's wedding came and went last week, it went perfect and without a hitch ( I'll post some official pics soon after I got them off the photographer). In any case, it was a lot of fun, and best of all, I get to see my cousins again. Right now, I'm waiting here at the coffeeshop for my batchmates to arrive, to plan for our batch 10th year high school anniversary.

Also, I'm searching for the word "vacation" and looking to see if it can apply to me.

Perhaps August...

:::100 words: Indecision:::

A man stands at the edge of the ravine, arms at the side, feet together, toes curled slightly inside. Behind him, a barren desolation of land; devoid of life. In front of him, the gaping maw of the ravine calls to him, hauntingly. To where should he go? Alone, yet there’s no sadness. The wind wails a mournful dirge, urging him, but not saying to where. He thought of his life, his past, and in retrospect, discovered he felt that he did enough already. But there is more to do, more to discover. So he stands there, between worlds, contemplating.

Seeing this cool video inspires me to do something also. Now if I have the time, a nice location and a couple of monkeys ... hmmm...
